Air Libya Students Graduate in Dublin
A group of ten trainee pilots from Air Libya graduated from their flight simulation training in Dublin today (Sunday, January 20th).
Simtech Aviation, which runs the Aviation Centre of Excellence near Dublin Airport, won the contract with the Middle Eastern airline to deliver Jet Orientation Course (JOC) training to the group of aspiring pilots.
Under the guidance of Captain John Flanagan, the group of trainee pilots followed their JOC training with an AVRO RJ aircraft ype rating and will receive their training certificates from Senator Darragh O’Brien at a ceremony in Dublin today.
Air Libya mainly operates charter flights, with its main base in Benghazi. Simtech Aviation, which is run by Fergal Keogh and Sé Pardy, also provides staff at the airline with weight and balance training, crew resource management training and cabin crew training.
The EASA-FCL approved AVRO RJ aircraft type rating programme was delivered as an intensive five-week classroom and simulator-training course, which began at the Simtech facility in November. The programme consisted of a fifteen-day ground school syllabus, followed by a 40-hour simulator-training programme in Dublin.
All aspects of flight planning and performance were covered in detail during the Jet Orientation course and Simtech tailored the training to cover Air Libya’s aircraft specifications. ?
According to Sé Pardy from Simtech Aviation, the 40-hour simulator course is designed to provide a progressive sequence of training. He said: “the 10-session syllabus, which includes a Licence Skills Test, familiarised the trainees with all aspects of limitations, normal, abnormal and emergency procedures associated with the aircraft. We’d like to congratulate the trainees from Air Libya on graduating from this course and we look to welcoming more international airlines to Ireland for their flight simulation training in the future.”
Simtech Aviation also provides specialist flight training to a range of other airlines such as Tiger Airways, BMI Regional, CityJet, Aer Lingus, Aer Arann and Airlink Airways.?
The ten students from Air Libya graduating today in Dublin are: Ramadan Dukali, Ikram Modaykhan, Fathi Abdullh ,Mohamed Said, Tamim Amnaina, Almahdi Areibi, Mohamed Aboughabha, Busaif Mohamed, Abdelhadi Aboushalla and Jason Howard.
