A Health Precautions Workshop, identified in JAR OPS, and designed as an overview specifically for flight and cabin crew.

Course content

  • General health
  • Medication drugs, flying and effects
  • Consumption of alcohol
  • Food poisoning
  • Hypoxia
  • Hyperventilation
  • Contamination of skin and eyes and use of wash kit
  • Contents of first aid kit

First Aid – Definition – Aims – Responsibilities

  • Angina
  • Heart Attack
  • Cardiac Arrest
  • Resuscitation – practical participation by students
  • Choking – adult – child
  • Recovery position
  • Fainting
  • Medical Emergency – diabetes, asthma, epilepsy

Training method

Classroom based lectures and demonstrations, including the use of video presentations. Note. First Aid kit example to be provided by each individual airline. All students to wear comfortable and casual clothing to suit practical exercises.

Full wet drill and smoke drill training also available.
